This website is run by The Burden Basket Ltd. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

How accessible this website is

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

The contrast ratio between our company colours and WCAG 2.1 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) recommendations is non-compliant but accessible to 99% of users.
You cannot modify the line height or spacing of text.
Most older PDF documents are not fully accessible to screen reader software.
Embedded videos do not have captions (We do not have control over third party videos).
Some of our online forms are difficult to navigate using just a keyboard. We use a HoneyPot spam protection which adds hidden fields which must be ignored to complete our contact forms (They are clearly labelled to screen readers but must be left empty to beat the spam protection).
You cannot skip to the main content when using a screen reader.
Some minor HTML and CSS inconsistencies with the guidance provided by WCAG 2.1 A standards.

While Think Jarvis do not actively claim compliance with WCAG 2.1 standards, The Burden Basket website, under testing meets 95.9% of the requirements for WCAG 2.1 A standards and is partially compliant with AA and AAA standards.

The Burden Basket Ltd are responsible for raising any specific accessibility issues with their web developer so that changes can be implemented in a timely manner.

Non-accessible content

Any third-party content like our Eventbrite and Zoom event pages and embeds are outside of our control. These are services provided by a third-party – limiting our ability to edit their design.

PDF documents hosted on this website have not been checked for accessibility.

Any third party hosted videos – The Burden Basket is not responsible for adding captions to videos held on platforms like YouTube or Vimeo.

Disproportionate burden

The website is built on a highly customisable framework/page builder system. The site is set to the highest level of compliance available from the provider. Any remaining issues such as background contrast, minor ARIA issues and unique element issues will be extremely difficult for us to resolve in a cost-effective manner.

We have no plans to amend any system-level issues unless specific requests are made for a higher level of accessibility.

Content that is not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

PDFs and other documents
Some of our PDFs and Word documents are essential to providing our services. For example, we have PDFs with information on how users can access our services and forms published as Word documents.

The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they are not essential to providing our services. For example, we do not plan to fix our audit reports.

Any new PDFs or Word documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.

Live video
We do not plan to add captions to live video streams because live video is exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

Since the launch of our current website, we have enabled the highest level of conformance with WCAG 2.1 available within the system. The site has also been tested against Google Web Vitals for Speed, Design, SEO and Accessibility; scoring 90+ in all areas for 99% of design cases on this website.

We have no specific plans to further our compliance with WCAG 2.1 unless a specific request is made for a higher level of compliance.

Your name and contact information will be stored with your consent (or implied consent such as making an enquiry on our website) so that we may contact you in relation to your enquiry.
We will only keep your contact details for marketing purposes if you explicitly opt in to our mailing list.
If you are an existing customer we may also opt you in to our mailing list under the legitimate business interest basis for processing your data. You will be given the opportunity to opt out in the footer of every marketing email you receive from us thereafter.
We may contact you in relation to an ongoing contract.
